OPEN CREATIVE MEETING WITH OLES SANIN HELD AT KSADA

On May 13, 2026, the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts hosted an open creative meeting with the prominent Ukrainian film director, public and cultural figure Oles SANIN. Renowned not only as a director, Oles SANIN is also an actor, cinematographer, producer, and musician. He serves as a Corresponding Member and Vice-President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.

The meeting took place as part of the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Audiovisual Art and Media Technologies: Modern Trends and Development Prospects”. In a warm and engaging atmosphere, students, lecturers, and guests of the Academy had the unique opportunity to meet the author of such iconic Ukrainian films as Mamay (2003), The Guide (2013), and Dovbush (2023).

The director shared insights into his filmmaking process, answered questions, and exchanged views with the audience. He spoke about the role of the artist in times of war, emphasising that art today is not merely a form of self-expression, but an important tool for supporting society, preserving cultural memory, and shaping national identity.

The audience expressed their gratitude to the filmmaker for such an open and inspiring conversation, which provided new ideas and creative energy.
