“KHARKIV LIVES AND… KEEPS FILMING”: HIGHLIGHTS OF JANUARY 2026 ART EVENTS

On January 22, 2026, in the ART AREA DK creative space, the Faculty of Audiovisual Arts and Media Technologies of KSADA, in collaboration with the local “Cosmofilm” film club, held an open screening for Kharkiv residents and guests of the city. The event, symbolically titled “Kharkiv lives and… keeps filming”, featured student photography and video works

The programme allowed the audience to get acquainted with:

  • The photo exhibition “RESUSICATIO” by Mykhailo ZUBCHANINOV, a graduate of the Department of Photography and Visual Practices at KSADA.
  • The photo debut “Shot of the Week” by first-year students of the “Media Art and Video Art” and “Production of Audiovisual Projects” educational programmes (course “Fundamentals of Cinematography”, supervised by Anna PYSANENKO).
  • Diploma thematic works by young authors from the Department of Audiovisual Arts (supervised by Olena NOVIKOVA, Galina ZHERIKHOVA, and Yuliia BONDARENKO).

The vibrant youthful vibe of the evening was enhanced by live musical performances from Static Duo (Volodymyr AKHRIMENKO and Yevhenii KHRIN), Lefor (Volodymyr LEONOV), and Linza (Yelyzaveta BOBRYSHEVA). The audience also had the opportunity to vote for their favourite work, awarding the “Audience Choice” award to ELINA SEMENOVA (supervised by Olena NOVIKOVA and Galina ZHERIKHOVA).

The organisers of the event once again proved that despite all the challenges of life in a frontline city, Kharkiv not only lives but continues to film, photograph, educate, and create. And creativity begins at KSADA!
