"THE 4TH BLOCK" ECO-POSTER MUSEUM

Established in 2019 at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, “The 4th Block” Eco-Poster Museum is based on a unique collection of environmentally and socially oriented posters formed through ten editions of “The 4th Block” International Eco-Poster Triennial — the largest design event in Ukraine, held in Kharkiv every three years.

Following each triennial exhibition, and with the artists’ consent, the posters are integrated into the Museum’s collection, which currently comprises approximately 11 000 works. The Academy’s students and teaching staff have open access to the collection in both digital and physical formats, with regular exhibitions and educational programmes organised.

The Museum’s collection serves as a foundation for academic research, including doctoral dissertations as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s theses. Materials from the collection are widely used in the educational process, specifically within the Graphics and Media Design Departments. In particular, it is used in the author’s course “Ecological Poster – Zone of Experiment” by Professor Oleg Veklenko, President of “The 4th Block” International Eco-Poster Triennial.
