Dedicated to Science Day in Ukraine, the conference will take place on May 13–14, 2026, in a hybrid ONLINE/OFFLINE format.

May 13 (Wednesday)
INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE. SCIENCE AND PRACTICE
10:00 – 11:30 (ONLINE/OFFLINE) – Official opening of the conference.
Plenary Session featuring distinguished guests — public figures, educators, and audiovisual arts professionals from Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Belgium, Italy, Georgia, Turkey, Portugal, Japan, and the USA.
Keynote Opening Lecture:
“FLOWERS BEYOND THE DARK: DOCUMENTARY CINEMA IN TIMES OF HISTORICAL CHALLENGES”
Speaker: IRYNA PRAVYLO – Senior Lecturer at the Department of Directing and Dramaturgy of Film and Television (Institute of Screen Arts, I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television); documentary film director (Kyiv, Ukraine).
Iryna Pravylo’s film “Flowers Beyond the Dark” follows three parallel stories from the Kyiv region in spring 2022. The film was selected for the “Best International Documentary Feature” nomination at the Carmel International Film Festival (California) and numerous festivals worldwide.
12:00 – 13:00 (ONLINE/OFFLINE) – Presentation of the Interdisciplinary Art Project: “INSTRUCTIONS: An Artistic Dialogue between Antwerp and Kharkiv” (Ukraine-Belgium).
Featuring students and lecturers from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts (Ukraine) and Sint Lucas Antwerpen (Belgium).
13:00 – 14:00 – Break.
14:00 (OFFLINE) – Open Creative Meeting with the prominent film director and cultural figure — OLES SANIN.
Oles Sanin is a Ukrainian film director, actor, cinematographer, producer, musician and sculptor. An Honoured Artist of Ukraine (2014); he was also awarded the Alexander Dovzhenko Ukrainian State Award. Two of his feature films, the debut “Mamay” (2003) and “The Guide” (2014), were official Ukrainian entries for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Most recently, he directed the historical adventure film “Dovbush”, released in 2023.
