From August 12 to August 15, 2026, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted the third and final stage of “TYSIACHOVESNA”, a state initiative supporting Ukrainian culture. Over four days, creators from across Ukraine presented their cultural projects to experts.
For the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, this stage was particularly significant, with six Academy projects presented in the third round. Each project reflected extensive work, research, creative vision and a commitment to exploring Ukraine through art.
The Academy’s projects were presented by:
The four-day programme included project presentations, expert discussions, questions, new professional connections and intensive work. It also demonstrated KSADA’s active role in shaping Ukraine’s contemporary cultural landscape.
AND FINALLY, THE LONG-AWAITED RESULT!
“CHORNOBYL: MEMORY OF GENERATIONS”, a KSADA project, has been selected as a winner of the “TYSIACHOVESNA” state initiative supporting Ukrainian cultural projects!
The project aims to preserve historical memory through contemporary visual means, artistic interpretation of the 1986 tragedy, and the creation of a new cultural narrative resonant with modern audiences, particularly younger generations.
Why Is This Important for the Academy?
KSADA continues to research, create and present new cultural projects while seeking opportunities to bring them to life. Our projects explore the memory of generations, cultural heritage, outstanding Ukrainian artists and the role of art in helping society navigate difficult times and preserve Ukrainian identity. Six projects presented in the third round are the result of the collaborative work of a large KSADA team.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to project development, material preparation, presentations, pitching, team support, and representing the Academy in Ivano-Frankivsk.
We do not simply create projects. We create cultural memory and Ukraine’s future.
That is why the participation of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts in “TYSIACHOVESNA” is an important step for the Academy, for Kharkiv, and for Ukrainian art.
More information about the “TYSIACHOVESNA” initiative is available on the official website of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
