To mark Rescuer’s Day, the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have launched the art project “Courage Through Generations” with the support of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

The project presents an exhibition of artworks dedicated to the fire and rescue service, featuring works by artists from the 1980s to the present day, including those created during the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.

The exhibition is significant in that it uses art to illustrate how the profession of a rescuer has evolved. In the 1980s, the focus was primarily on firefighting, whereas today rescuers also deal with the aftermath of missile and drone strikes, clear rubble, and evacuate people.
