On September 4, 2026, an exhibition “(Un)extinguished Light of Those (Not) Born for War” / “(Nie)zagaszone światło (nie)urodzonych do wojny” featuring the works of artists who lost their lives during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine will open in Warsaw.

The exhibition is held as part of the project “Place of Presence: Memory, Creativity, Life”, implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation as part of the “Culture. Regions” programme.

The exhibition features paintings, sculptures, and graphic works by artists whose lives were cut short by the Russian-Ukrainian war. The display is complemented by video testimonies and interviews dedicated to the artists, their lives, creative practices, and worldviews.

The exhibition brings together the memory of the artists who lost their lives with a living artistic process, offering an opportunity to discover what they lived for, what they spoke about, and what they created before voluntarily taking up the defence of Ukraine.
