Attention! Competition Announcement!

We invite students of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts to participate in the exhibition-competition “The Blank Spot – Restoring Memory”.

The competition is initiated by the Academy’s long-standing partner — Pinacoteca Art Space.

The opening of the exhibition-competition of artworks created using decorative plaster will take place on September 18, 2026, at the Pinacoteca Art Space.

Participation for KSADA students is free of charge. Winners will receive prizes!

This year’s competition theme is “Blank Spots in History”, focusing on the Executed Renaissance, dissidents, and historical figures whose names were erased by the Soviet authorities in the 20th century.

Registration opens on August 1, 2026. Upon registering, participants will receive a canvas base and materials for creating their artwork.

Task Requirements:

• create a textured 3D painting using the provided Caparol plaster materials;
• explore and reflect on the theme of “blank spots” in the history of our country and the generation of creative intellectuals who were persecuted and destroyed;
• submit the finished artwork no later than September 4, 2026.

The competition features three participant categories:

• professional artists;
• amateurs;
• youth (aged 13–18).

The Pinacoteca Art Space team is waiting for you to explore the past together and erase all the blank spots from our history.
