FACULTY OF AUDIOVISUAL ARTS AND MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES HELD A CREATIVE WORKSHOP FOR KHARKIV CHILDREN

“THE FUTURE DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU DO TODAY”:

The Faculty of Audiovisual Arts and Media Technologies organised a creative workshop for Kharkiv children

These days, school summer camps are already actively operating in Kharkiv, providing local children with the opportunity to explore a variety of exciting professions, including creative ones.

The Faculty of Audiovisual Arts and Media Technologies joined the summer camp activities at Kharkiv Lyceum № 126 of the Kharkiv City Council, transforming an ordinary day into a vibrant and inspiring creative media workshop. Together, they created:

  • film and cartoon characters;
  • scripts and storylines;
  • exceptionally positive news programmes.

The children enthusiastically took on the roles of screenwriters, directors, photographers, camera operators, and reporters!

The event was held as part of the activities of the Junior Academy of Design and Arts. To create this festive and cinematic atmosphere, the Faculty of Audiovisual Arts and Media Technologies was represented by:

  • Hanna KURINNA — Dean of the Faculty of Audiovisual Arts and Media Technologies;
  • Yelizaveta TODOROVA and Hanna KUCHERENKO — students of the Department of Audiovisual Arts.

“…Personally, such meetings are not only a wonderful opportunity to introduce our Kharkiv children to the magical and exciting world of audiovisual art, but also a chance to communicate with teachers and learn more about the realities of today’s school life.

It is crucial for us, as higher education lecturers who welcome graduates from Kharkiv schools every year, to stay connected to reality. We need to understand what schools go through, how they teach, what kind of graduates they aim to prepare, and, ultimately, what hopes they place on higher education institutions…

…I express my deepest gratitude and respect to the teachers of Kharkiv, and especially to the teachers of Kharkiv Lyceum № 126, who, despite the hardships of war, continue to do everything in their power to keep education in Kharkiv alive!”, Hanna KURINNA, Dean of the Faculty

These two days at Kharkiv Lyceum № 126 flew by in the blink of an eye! It is wonderful to know that these young schoolchildren now know a little more about television and film professions, about photographers and directors, about how cartoons are made, and how much joy audiovisual creativity can bring.

We hope there are some of our future applicants among these smiling faces in the photos!

And yes, THE FUTURE DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU DO TODAY! (as the inscription on one of the Lyceum’s walls wisely states).
