On May 25, 2026, the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts hosted the opening of the solo exhibition “A Sense of Movement” by Tetiana ZAMNIUS, a Master’s student of the Department of Monumental Painting (Educational Programme: “Contemporary Visual Practices”). The exposition brings together paintings, mural sketches, and art objects created during the ongoing war, when the artist’s own room served as both a classroom and a creative studio.

The exhibition was officially opened by the Rector of the Academy, Oleksandr SOBOLIEV, who highlighted the significance of student projects as a testament to resilience even under the most challenging circumstances. First Vice-Rector Maryna TOKAR and Vice-Rector for Research Vladyslav KUTATELADZE also addressed the audience, highlighting the high artistic quality, integrity, and coherent visual language of the exhibition. 

The artworks of Tetiana Zamnius reflect the inner dynamics of professional growth, the rethinking of family heritage and Ukrainian history, as well as a profound experience of the present. In her artist’s statement, she notes: 

“My creative practice has been shaped by life during wartime, distance learning, and a constant sense of uncertainty… For me, art became a way to preserve the sense of development, exploration, and hope”.

The exhibition is curated by Professor Eugeny KOTLYAR, Head of the Department of Monumental Painting.

The exhibition “A Sense of Movement” will run until June 15, 2026. We invite all art enthusiasts to discover the visual world of a young artist, which combines personal experience with a search for creative movement.
