KSADA JOINS NATIONAL ACCESSIBILITY WEEK

From May 25 to May 31, Ukraine marks National Accessibility Week — an information initiative aimed at promoting a culture of respect, equal opportunities, and accessibility for all members of society.

Accessibility is not limited to physical spaces; it is about inclusive communication, equal access to education, information, digital services, cultural environments, and public life for every individual, regardless of age, health condition, or life circumstances.

The Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts supports the principles of accessibility and joins the initiative by organising a series of thematic activities throughout the week.

During the week, the Academy’s structural units are encouraged to hold the following activities:

  • Barrier-Free Hour” for staff members dedicated to discussions on inclusive communication, accessibility of the educational environment, and respect for human dignity;
  • Distribution of the “Barrier-Free Handbook” among staff and students to promote respectful communication and the creation of accessible environments;
  • Self-education and awareness-raising through the “Barrier-Free Literacy” educational series (certificate upon completion);
  • Familiarisation with the materials on the “Accessibility” section of the official KSADA website.

Creating an accessible environment is a shared responsibility and an important step towards building an open, modern and humane society.
