On April 17, 2026, the Department of Multimedia Design at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts held a workshop titled “From Idea to Frame: Creating a Script and Storyboard for Stop-Motion Animation”. The event was organised as part of the Junior Academy of Design and Arts activities and brought together over 70 participants interested in animation and visual storytelling.
The workshop was led by Hanna PEHAKHINA, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Multimedia Design. She introduced the participants to the key stages of creating an animated product — from the initial idea to its visual realisation.
During the meeting, participants learned how to develop a concept for a future animated film, how to write a script, what a storyboard is and how to create one effectively, as well as key techniques and secrets behind the craft of stop-motion animation.
Particular attention was given to the practical aspects of an animator’s work, allowing attendees not only to gain theoretical knowledge but also to take their first steps in creating their own animation projects.
The event served as an important platform for the creative development of young talents and the promotion of contemporary multimedia design trends. Participants had the opportunity to step into the role of animators and move closer to bringing their own creative visions to life in the field of animation.
