On March 4, 2026, as part of the Junior Academy of Design and Arts activities, a practical workshop titled “From Concept to Cartoon: Creating Sets for Stop-Motion Animation” took place. The event brought together over 140 participants, including school students, prospective applicants, and everyone interested in contemporary animation and multimedia design practices.
The session was led by Irina MALYNINA, Associate Professor of the Multimedia Design Department at KSADA, who shared her professional experience in creating sets for stop-motion animation.
During the workshop, participants explored the basic principles of designing animation sets, the artistic approach to spatial composition, and how materials, scale, and composition influence the visual perception of an animated scene.
The event confirmed the significant interest among young people in multimedia design and creative experimentation within the field of animation.
The activities of the Junior Academy of Design and Arts at KSADA are aimed at supporting the creative development of youth, introducing future applicants to contemporary fields of design and art, and providing a space for professional growth.
