The Department of Monumental Painting of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts invites you to apply for our Bachelor’s programme “STREET ART AND MONUMENTAL ART” and Master’s programme “CONTEMPORARY VISUAL PRACTICES”.
Have you ever dreamed of creating modern murals and street art? Would you like to try your hand at icon painting and church art? Are you interested in mosaics, stained glass, classical or contemporary interior or exterior murals? All of this and much more is part of what our department offers. We specifically reach out to our youth in Ukraine and abroad who are interested in distance learning. Through the years of COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing war, our Academy and department have successfully adopted and developed an effective hybrid learning system for teaching fine arts, as well as classical and contemporary monumental painting techniques. This includes online education, supported by a continuously evolving virtual learning environment. Even during the war, our students continue to create exhibitions and work on murals both in Ukraine and abroad.
We understand the challenges faced by our fellow citizens who have lost their homes and were forced to relocate to safer cities. We believe that the time will soon come when our country will need artistic professionals to renew and rebuild beautiful Ukrainian cities, marking a new era for monumental art. Our department recognizes this demand, preserves its artistic traditions, and is committed to passing them on to ambitious and inspired talents who envision their future in Ukraine.
