CONFERENCE OF THE KSADA LABOUR COLLECTIVE WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF IHOR TEREKHOV

Ihor TEREKHOV, Mayor of Kharkiv:

“We are seeing enormous demand for cultural events.”

The Conference of the Labour Collective of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts took place today, January 22, 2026. The event was attended by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor TEREKHOV, the academic community members, students of the Academy, representatives of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, and others.

Participants listened to and approved the report by Rector Oleksandr SOBOLEV on the results of the Academy’s work throughout 2025 and discussed future plans.

Mayor Ihor TEREKHOV addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He expressed gratitude to all the Academy staff who continue to work in Kharkiv, developing culture and involving youth in artistic projects despite current challenges.

“You are a powerful team that remains in our home city, no matter what. Thank you for giving people the joy of viewing paintings, attending exhibitions and theatre performances. Right now, we are seeing enormous demand for cultural events. Together, we will continue to develop this. I will do everything possible to ensure all our universities remain in Kharkiv and that students return. Yes, it will be difficult, but we will certainly achieve this”, the Mayor emphasised.

Following his speech, Ihor TEREKHOV presented the Academy’s distinguished staff members with Mayor’s Letters of Appreciation, as well as Certificates of Honour from the City Council and the Executive Committee.
