Application Deadline:<\/b> October 1, 2026<\/span><\/p>\n

ELIA<\/b>, Europe’s leading multidisciplinary network in higher arts education and research, has opened a call for applications to join the <\/span>ELIA Students Working Group<\/b>. Students from ELIA member institutions, including those studying at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, are invited to apply. The organisers plan to select eight students to work within an international community that will promote the development of arts education and strengthen the student voice.<\/span><\/p>\n

About the Working Group<\/b><\/p>\n

The ELIA Students Working Group creates and develops the <\/span>Students Community Hub<\/b> \u2014 a space formed by students for students, which supports mutual learning, collective reflection on experiences and active participation in the life of the international arts community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants will address key issues important to contemporary arts education, including learning conditions, student well-being, teaching practices, student representation, career prospects, solidarity, and care.<\/span><\/p>\n

Who Can Apply?<\/b><\/p>\n

Applications are open to students <\/span>enrolled in ELIA member institutions<\/b>, regardless of their artistic discipline or area of creative practice. The organisers are looking for motivated candidates who are ready to engage in international collaboration, drive change, support the community and co-develop projects. The selection process will take into account motivation, diversity of experience and disciplines, as well as a willingness to actively contribute to the group\u2019s work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participation Format and Opportunities<\/b><\/p>\n

The working group’s activities will primarily take place online, with meetings held approximately every six weeks, alongside asynchronous collaboration, joint research and creative initiatives, workshops, and events. The estimated workload is <\/span>4\u20136 hours per month<\/b>. The duration of participation is <\/span>two years<\/b>, with the possibility of extension to four years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of arts education through ELIA\u2019s work, expand their international professional networks, develop student leadership skills, and take part in international events. <\/span>For the 2026\u20132028 period<\/b>, selected students will receive grants to cover travel and accommodation costs for annual in-person meetings of the working group. Other event-related expenses are expected to be covered by home institutions, unless alternative funding mechanisms are provided.<\/span><\/p>\n

To apply, candidates must submit their application alongside an institutional letter of support confirming that the time required to work in the group has been approved and that participation is recognised as a valid reason for academic absences.<\/span><\/p>\n
