Keynote Opening Lecture:<\/b><\/p>\n

“FLOWERS BEYOND THE DARK: DOCUMENTARY CINEMA IN TIMES OF HISTORICAL CHALLENGES”<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaker: IRYNA PRAVYLO <\/b>\u2013 Senior Lecturer at the Department of Directing and Dramaturgy of Film and Television (Institute of Screen Arts, I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television); documentary film director (Kyiv, Ukraine).<\/span><\/p>\n

Iryna Pravylo\u2019s film <\/span>“Flowers Beyond the Dark”<\/b> follows three parallel stories from the Kyiv region in spring 2022. The film was selected for the “Best International Documentary Feature” nomination at the Carmel International Film Festival (California) and numerous festivals worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n

14:00 <\/b>(OFFLINE)<\/span> \u2013<\/span> Open Creative Meeting<\/b> with the prominent film director and cultural figure \u2014 <\/span>OLES SANIN<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oles Sanin <\/b>is a Ukrainian film director, actor, cinematographer, producer, musician and sculptor. An Honoured Artist of Ukraine (2014); he was also awarded the Alexander Dovzhenko Ukrainian State Award. Two of his feature films, the debut “Mamay” (2003) and “The Guide” (2014), were official Ukrainian entries for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Most recently, he directed the historical adventure film “Dovbush”, released in 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n
