The training of restorers at Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute was started in 1988, when a sub division of painting restoration was opened at the department of easel painting. In 1991, the restorations ub division was converted into a department. The Department of Restoration and Expertise of Works of Art was created in 1994. At the same time graduation of the first specialists took place. The department fruit fully cooperates with museums, temples and monasteries in Ukraine, as well as beyond its borders. One of the directions of the department's work is to provideres to ration services to individuals who give painting works to students for restoration for practical and educational training. The department carries out attribution of works of art as well.

Graduates of the department work as restorers at the National Research and Restoration Center of Ukraine, at museums of Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Russia, Finland, France and also teach at higher education institutions in Ukraine and abroad.

Pohribny Artem


In 1994 graduated from Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute.Works as an artist-restorer of oil painting in Kharkiv branch of the National Research and Restoration Center of Ukraine. Artist-restorer with the category of the highest qualification. Member of the NUAU. Participant of regional, all-Ukrainian and international exhibitions. Has personal exhibitions in Ukraine and Europe. Permanent participant of the plein air painting in Poland, Germany, Ukraine.


Mhlynets Mykhailo


In 1994 graduated from Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute. Lecturer of the Department of Restoration of Easel and Monumental Painting of KSADA, 1994 – 2002. Now works as an artist-restorer atKharkiv Art Museum.





Zherdiev Vitaliy


In 1990 graduated from Kharkiv State Art College. In 1997 graduated from KhAII, specialty: artist-restorer (diploma with honors). He has been working at KSADA since 2002, assistant professor of the Department of Drawing. During 2005-2009 - research trips to Austria, Germany, France. Participated in international conferences of the European Leagueof Institute ofArts in Berlin and Budapest. Hadtraineeship at the HochschulefürKunste und Design Burg-Giebichenstein (Halle, Deutschland) at the High School of Arts and Design (Halle, Deutschland). In 2010, he defended his thesis for a Candidate of Arts degree on the topic "Sacred Art in Russian Orthodox Churches in Germany". Honorary Professor of Sichuan Pedagogical University (PRC).Works in the genre of portrait, landscape and religious painting. The works are in the collections and galleries of Russia, the Czech Republic, Germany, the United States, including the Center of Religion and Arts of the Theological Seminary of Wesley (Center for the Arts and Religion at the Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington D.C., USA).


Chekal Oleksiy


Graduated from KSADA in 2000. He is now a designer, calligrapher, art critic and artistic director of the graphic design studio PanicDesign. In various years,he has been teaching at KSADA (2006-2013), the British School of Design (2011-2014). He currently works as an invited professor at the Florence Academy of Arts (Italy). Has conducted numerous seminars on calligraphy and design in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Italy, Poland, France. Has several personal exhibitions in Europe (Florence, Paris, Palermo, Pratovecchio, Lublin, etc.). He specializes in complex tasks in the field of combining design, calligraphy and art history within religious or scholarly projects. A lot of work in the field of church design, development of historical fonts and issues of inscriptions and text in the temple field. As a historian, isinterestedin the early Christian art of Byzantium, the Middle East, Europe, as well as the history of the font and book manuscript traditions.

Yegorov Yevgen


Graduated from KSADA in 2002 onthespecialty "Restorationofworksofart".In 2003 obtainedmaster'sdegreeat KSADA. Artist-restorer, painter, teacherofDepartmentofDrawing at KSADA. Participantofregional, nationalandinternationalexhibitionssince 1998.MemberoftheNationalUnionofArtistsofUkrainesince 2001.Has stateawards. HiscreativeandrestoredworksareinmuseumsandprivatecollectionsofUkraineandEurope.


Poliakov Illia


Graduated from KSADA in 2006. Since 2010, he has been working as an artist-restorer of easel painting in Odessa branch of the National Research and Restoration Center of Ukraine, painter-restorer of tempera painting of the qualification of the first category. He has restored about 100 works of easel painting of varying degrees of complexity during eight years in the restoration center, which are now stored in the museums of south Ukraine, such as Odessa Art Museum, Odessa Museum of Western and Oriental Art, Odessa Municipal Museum of Personal Collections of A.V.Bleschunov, Kirovograd Regional Art Museum, V.V. Vereshchagin Nikolayev Art Museum and others.


Storozhev Yaroslav


Graduated from KSADA in 2002 on the specialty "Restoration of works of art". In 2006 he obtained master's degree at KSADA. Works as an artist-restorer at the Kharkiv Art Museum, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.





Danyliuk Bogdana


Graduated from KSADA in 2010.Since 2010 has worked as an artist-restorer of easel oil and tempera painting in Odessa branch of the National Research and Restoration Center of Ukraine, artist-restorer of the qualification of the second category. In 2016 had a traineeship at PranasGoodinas Restoration Center (Lithuania) on working with materials CLUSEL EF TYLOSE MH300 P3 Triquart.
