ADMISSIONS TO KSADA

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

1. International students and persons with no citizenship are trained in accordance with the Act of Ukraine On legal status of foreigners and persons with no citizenship, Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine On foreigners’ education in Ukraine (with some amendments), #136 dated 26.02.1993, Ukraine Presidential Decree On measures towards the development of the economical cooperation of regions of Ukraine with neighbouring border areas of the Russian Federation, #112/94 dated 25.03.1994, Ukraine Presidential Decree On measures towards the development of the economical cooperation of regions of Ukraine with neighbouring border areas of the Republic of Belarus and administrative-and-geographical districts of the Republic of Moldova, #271/94 dated 03.06.1994, Decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine #1541.

2. Foreign citizens and persons with no citizenship can be admitted to the first year of both daytime and distance education provided they have secondary or vocational secondary education, art training with the knowledge content equal to either art school, art lyceum or ten-grade art school. According to the Academy’s Admission Regulations foreign citizens are admitted after considering the results of a creativity competition and an interview in the Ukrainian/ Russian language. A foreigner can be admitted to the Academy only in case he/she speaks and understands the language well enough to be able to take in educational material. Their language level gets evaluated by the Admission Board at the interview. In case the Admission Board determines a poor language level, a foreigner gets trained at the Pre-study Department. If necessary, the Academy can provide a foreigner with the invitation for studying. Moreover, if needed, a foreigner first can study at the Pre-study Department, and having finished it, he/she can enter the Academy and become a first-year student at a chosen speciality, provided the Admission Regulations are observed.

3. Those foreigners who receive a state grant in accordance with international contracts, state programmes or other international obligations of Ukraine get admitted to the Academy on the authority of the assignment of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MESU) within the quantity of the state order. Foreign citizens who enter the Academy owing to the state order with the purposive assignment of MESU can provide a letter of verification about their passing entrance examinations at another higher educational institution with a fine art specialization. A foreign citizen who has got a Bachelor’s degree certificate in his/her country, can enter the Academy for a Master’s degree programme, provided the certificate is approved by MESU in accordance with the Decree of the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth, and Sports of Ukraine #632 dated 28.05.2012. Those foreigners with a Ukrainian origin who have got an assignment for studying from officially registered national and cultural associations, have equal rights with Ukrainian citizens when entering KSADA, including cases of entering the Academy owing to the state order. Except all necessary documents such foreigners must present a certificate of a foreign Ukrainian which has to be designed according to laws of Ukraine.

Application form
Original and copy of the certificate about the previous education
Original and copy of the final official transcript which contains an applicant’s academic progress in the subjects he/she learnt
Copy of birth certificate
Medical certificate approved by the Ministry of Health of the residence country; it must be issued during 60 or less days before one’s entry to Ukraine for studying
Copy of the passport of a foreigner or copy of an identity document of a person with no citizenship
Language proficiency certificate (if necessary)
Valid medical insurance (except those foreigners whose residence countries has signed an agreement with Ukraine about free urgent medical aid)
6 photographs 30х40 mm; 4 photographs 3,5х4,5mm (matte)
Copy of Certificate of a foreigner with Ukrainian origin (if available)

Documents 2-4 must be translated into the Ukrainian language and notarized. Documents of a foreign citizen must be notarizedin a proper for their residence country way and legalized by a diplomatic authority of Ukraine if another way is not covered within international agreements of Ukraine.

5. Admission of foreign citizens to a Master’s degree programme is carried out in accordance with the recommendations at the Bachelor’s degree thesis defense, as well as based on the results of an examination in a foreign language, interview, and examination of creative works. Then Decree about Admission is issued by the Academy.

6. Foreign students are provided with a sleeping accommodation in the hostel after they apply for it and if it is available.
